The E3 mission for Atlus was clear - show the world they were releasing a bunch of games that people had been begging and pleading for English releases for, and in the process make me a very happy guy. One of those announcements was Touch Detective, a Nintendo DS adventure game I loved from the moment I first saw it. The game's art style is just so distinctive, and reminds me a bit of the old PS2 RPG Okage, except a bit creepier and with a more hand drawn style to it.
So what about the game? I know you'll be surprised to hear this, but Touch Detective is about doing detective work, and using the touch screen to do so. A bit reminiscent of those classic Sierra adventure games, your job will be to navigate Mackenzie around the world she inhabits, all of the while solving mysteries. Mackenzie's father was a renowned detective, but after a sudden and unexpected death, Mackenzie takes over the family business. Across four unusual cases, you'll talk to witnesses, gather clues and evidence, and solve puzzles in order to get to the bottom of each case.
I know I sound like a broken record, but Touch Detective is yet another must-own game for the Nintendo DS. If these releases keep happening, I'm going to be homeless on the street, living in a makeshift house built out of DS games.
